Two-Alarm Fire Hits San Antonio Apartment Building

June 9, 2025
Due to the high temperatures, San Antonio firefighters called for an additional alarm.

San Antonio firefighters battled a two-alarm fire that damaged a dozen units.

The intense heat and rapid spread of the flames contributed to the decision to call a second alarm, San Antonio fire officials told WOAI.

"Obviously, it's hot. That’s part of the reason our initial response is already larger than normal. A second alarm is a precaution we almost always take with a working fire. You’d rather have too many resources and not need them than not have enough when you do," explaind Joe Arrington, fire department spokesperson.

There were no injuries in the fire that remains under investigation.
